A first impression

Some skins do not need more richness – they need more light. SVR’s Ampoule C is a straightforward vitamin C serum for faces dulled by time, city air and not quite enough sleep. It is there to bring clarity back, not to pretend you are 27.

Why eMaison chose it

We chose this ampoule because it is one of the rare high‑strength vitamin C formulas that still considers sensitive, changing skin. Twenty per cent optimised vitamin C is a real dose – enough to address uneven tone, pollution stress and that grey cast that appears in perimenopause – but in a form designed to be more stable and less sharp than classic ascorbic acid. The texture is fluid rather than oily, which suits women who want radiance without another heavy layer. It is positioned in French pharmacies as a daily soin for tired, uneven, city‑worn faces, which feels honest.

How it fits into your rituals
This belongs in the morning, under cream and SPF, on days when you want your skin to look more awake than you feel. After cleansing and, if you use it, Avène Thermal Spring Water, press a few drops over face, neck and chest, then follow with a moisturiser such as Embryolisse Lait‑Crème Concentré or Filorga Time‑Filler 5XP and finish with sunscreen.

In the evening, you can repeat under a simple cream if pigmentation or dullness are real priorities, or keep it as a mornings‑only step.

What’s in it

Key Ingridients: Aqua (Water), 3‑O‑Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (20% Vitamin C), Propylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Propanediol, Ethoxydiglycol, Pentylene Glycol, Diglycerin, Xylitylglucoside, Algin, Disodium Phosphate, Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Methyl Diisopropyl Propionamide, Potassium Phosphate, Pullulan, Serine, Trehalose, Anhydroxylitol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Urea, Xylitol, 1,2‑Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Citric Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Citrate, Parfum (Fragrance).

At the centre is 3‑O‑ethyl ascorbic acid at 20% – a stabilised vitamin C that helps even tone and shield against pollution and UV‑related stress. Glycerin, diglycerin, urea, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate draw and hold water so the formula does not feel stripping. Evodia rutaecarpa extract is included for radiance, and there is fragrance, which reactive skin may need to note. The base contains alcohol to aid penetration and keep the texture light.

The honest note

This is a proper vitamin C serum, not the gentlest option, so reactive skin should start two or three mornings a week and build slowly. Used steadily, it is less about drama and more about quietly returning a clearer, less tired surface to the face you already recognise.
